Easy to install, more stable, and the heat pipe is in derectly contact with the CPU, the motherboard is effectively protected from being bent and deformed. TDP is up to 160W, greatly improved heat dissipation performance. The heat pipe is in direct contact with the CPU to achieve efficient and rapid heat transfer for quick heat dissipation.

I mean if I had to buy a new one just for AM4, I probably would have. Problem solved because I am a ghetto rigger. A small grain of rice sized blob is enough to cover our Intel. While most CPU coolers arrive with paste pre-applied or a small tube to use, we try and remove any variance from our testing and use Noctua’s NT-H1 thermal paste instead. Maybe 1 layer would have been enough, but I like it tight. Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition Review. I did use some old motherboard standoff o-rings on the screw-nuts so not to scrape the board up.īingo, this did the trick. Then I screwed the thing in as hard as I could. I cut out two layers of that with an exacto, and cut a hole where the backplate had one (under board ventilation?). Mine was pink, but who cares, it's going on the bottom. But I have plenty of the thin foam sheets they ship under the motherboards in the box. This could have been accomplished with some plastic washers, can't use metal on the back of the motherboard. So what I did was close the gap on the backplate under the motherboard.

I remount it again thinking I maybe missed something, nope. Not now, wiggle room plenty and I can push it forward and it breaks contact with the cpu. Hell I have used the heatsink as a HANDLE to remove and carry motherboards, that shit is so locked down. there should be zero on a locked down Hyper 212 install.

I tightened that shit as far as I could and I was not pleased. A huge amount of play in the lock nuts that screw into the stock backplate. So the new scissor bracket uses the stock AM4 backplate. 2013 Best Sale Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan RR 212E 20PK R2 Cheap 2327570. Sorry to necro a thread, but I just went through this today and what a PITA.
